How to Donate

There are several ways to donate to the BDFA

NEW
Online

We have now set up an online facility for regular or one-off donations, as well as for fundraisers to set up a fundraising page for us.  Click on the justgiving.com logo you see on our website or visit our page on their website at www.justgiving.com.

By post
Please send a cheque or postal order made payable to 'BDFA' to: BDFA c/o Heather House, Heather Drive, Tadley, Hampshire RG26 4QR. Please remember to write your name and address on the reverse of the cheque/postal order. Remember, if a donation is accompanied by a Gift Aid Declaration this will increase the donation to the BDFA by 28% as we can claim the tax back (see Gift Aid).

Payroll Giving
This is an easy and flexible way to support the BDFA. When you donate money to a cause in the normal way you are giving money from your taxed income. But all Give As You Earn donations are taken from your gross pay before tax is deducted so it actually costs you less to give as they are tax free. Please click here for a simple form to help your payroll section at work direct funds to the BDFA from your salary. Click Here to Download

Standing Order
By setting up a regular amount to be transferred to the BDFA with your bank you can then reclaim your charitable contribution within your annual tax return. Please click here for a simple form to help you set up a standing order with your bank. Click Here to Download

Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a government scheme which helps charities maximise their income from donations. The scheme allows charities to reclaim the tax paid by their donors through income or capital gains tax to the Inland Revenue. All the donor needs to do is complete a declaration which states that they are a tax payer, and that they agree to the charity reclaiming this money. The charity then makes a claim to the inland revenue which increases the value of the donations by 28%. That means that for every £100 of gift aid donations, the charity will receive an additional £28 from the tax man. Please click here for a simple form to help you collect funds in a way which will enable us to reclaim the tax. Click here to download.
