The BDFA 10th Anniversary Year Conference and AGM - Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th October 2008

Heather House/Apollo Hotel, Hampshire

 In the Spotlight

Bring friends, family and carers too for support, information and fun.

The BDFA is the only registered charity in the UK consisting of a national network of parents, carers, friends, relatives and professionals in communities across the UK who are actively committed to supporting all families affected by all types of Batten Disease. This year we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary and we aim to make this conference a highly informative and enjoyable family weekend experience. By attending you will gain a better understanding of the disease and the latest advances in research to bring hope for the future and be able to share your experiences with others whilst your children and siblings are looked after by specialist staff FOC. We have lined up superb-value overnight accommodation and a celebratory party with evening meal on the Saturday night to enable you to make the most of this opportunity wherever you are living in the UK and attend our AGM on Sunday. We even have a BDFA balloon race planned for launch after the conference sessions end on the Saturday afternoon!

You will see from our Conference and AGM programme that we have some great speakers and events lined up to celebrate our charity’s 10-year milestone:

-

The main conference ‘In the Spotlight’ is scheduled for Saturday 4th October at Heather House in Tadley.

 -

Free supervised children’s and young people’s activities will run throughout the day.

-

A BDFA Balloon Race will be launched from outside Heather House after the conference closes.

-

There will be a celebratory family get-together in the evening as it is our 10th Anniversary year. This will be at the Apollo Hotel Basingstoke.

-

On the Sunday (5th) morning at the Apollo Hotel you have the chance to find out about the BDFA-commissioned Family Support Project findings.

-

This is then followed by our AGM which includes updates on our strategy and

new research grant awards - come and have your say!
