Peer Befriending Training Course 2024

Would you like to train to become a BDFA Peer Befriender and help support another parent of a child with Batten disease on their journey?

We are looking for Dads from our BDFA Community to train to become Peer Befrienders and help support other dads of children with Batten disease.

Peer Befrienders are trained to listen and support parents on a regular basis (usually for an hour, every 2 weeks over Zoom or on the phone).
Our next BDFA Peer Befriending Training Course will start in September 2024.
It’s a 6 week course which is held on Zoom and led by Dr Jane Peek and Mimi Petty our Peer Befriending Coordinator.

Each training session will be on a Wednesday 10:30-1:30 and will be held on the following dates…. 

  • 11th September
  • 18th September
  • 25th September
  • 2nd October
  • 9th October
  • 16th October

You will need to available to attend all the training sessions.
