A grand total of £12,242.50 including Gift Aid has been raised through our Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023!
We would like to say a huge thank you for your support in raising such a phenomenal amount, which will fund our Peer Befriending Service until April 2024.
We were blown away to have exceeded our target for the second year running, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and kindness of our community.
We are so grateful to our wonderful Pledgers, along with our Champion Funder, The Hospital Saturday Fund, for matching the donations received, without whom this campaign would not be possible.
Thank you to our Peer Befrienders and Befriendees for sharing what this service means to them and thanks to everyone who supported our campaign by spreading awareness and sharing our page.
And of course, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who kindly donated to our campaign this year, every penny is hugely appreciated!
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

Here is a little about where the Big Give funds will be helping the work of the BDFA.

This year the BDFA will be raising funds for our Peer Befriending service.

The Peer Befriending service, which works in synergy with our core family support and is increasing our capacity to offer emotional support and to “walk alongside” families, building their resilience and reducing isolation. The project is led by a Coordinator, a bereaved parent appointed from within the community. As such, this is a community led and community driven project. We have a team of eight fully trained peer befrienders who are now regularly supporting other parents.
