Cathy McSweeney is the Family Support Officer for the South.

I have worked mostly in educational and respite establishments with children with a variety of disabilities, including those with visual and hearing loss and later specialising in those with profound and multiple disabilities. I qualified at the National Institute for Conductive Education as a Conductor, to provide specialised movement programmes for children and adults with motor disorders. For the last eleven years I have worked for Shared Lives, which is family based accommodation and support for vulnerable adults and those with disabilities. I am passionate about a holistic approach to a someone’s support, care and life in general, we are a sum of many parts that make an amazing whole!

Cathy started her role for BDFA in April 2019.
