BDFA News

We are pleased to announce that the Trustees of the BDFA have invited Liz Brownnutt to step up to the role of Interim CEO until the end of February 2024 and she is delighted to accept.  We believe that Liz will be the first CEO drawn from the Batten community having been linked to it for 10 years alongside which she has 25 years’ experience in the charity sector and has been Head of Fundraising at the BDFA for almost three years, all of which she will use to shape her approach to her new role.

During her time with the BDFA the Trustees have taken note of her excellent collaborative skills, her calmness under pressure and the external relationships she has developed for the benefit of the charity and with the Managed Access Agreement for Brineura® treatment for CLN2 soon to conclude those abilities are likely to be tested to the full.

Liz has returned from her holiday on 22nd August to take up the CEO responsibilities with the strong support of the team; Sarah Kenrick, Family Support Partner, with support from Mimi Petty Peer Befriending Coordinator, Dr Jo Nightingale, Head of Scientific Affairs, Lisa Forsyth, Team Admin Officer and Sarah Chandler, Fundraising Assistant.
