Ali Glover’s Sister

Katie’s Fundraising Story

My family has recently found out devastating news that my amazing nephew has a terminal disease, CLN6 Battens disease, which will progressively take his vision, motor and neurological functions and we have until possibly early teens with him.I chose to do the virtual Kiltwalk from Balloch to Glasgow 23 miles in honour of my amazing nephew Joshua.

I know that BDFA have already provided amazing support both financially and emotionally to my sister and her family. I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received from completing the Kiltwalk for BDFA. Whilst there is no known cure, BDFA are part of a research group exploring new possibilities all the time.

Thank you for everything that you do and how you support the Battens families.

Katie

Well done to Katie for your efforts at the Kiltwalk 2020. The event was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19, but was rearranged as a virtual event. We are so pleased Katie was able to get out there and still complete her event and raise an amazing amount for the BDFA.

Great Work Katie!
