Holiday & Short Breaks

The following are a list of options that may provide ways of overcoming these obstacles and offer some families the chance to experience a holiday or short break that they had not imagined possible.

Travel & Insurance

The BDFA cannot specifically recommend or endorse any organisation or insurance broker with regards to the provision of travel insurance; however we appreciate that it can be challenging to find appropriate cover when a family member has a pre-existing medical condition.

Wish Granting

Here are a few charities and organisations across the UK that specialise in granting wishes to children and their families who are faced with a diagnosis such as Batten Disease. Their focus is on providing opportunities for creating special memories.

The BDFA receives NO funding from Government and are only able to carry out our work because of the strong commitment of our volunteers and fundraisers.
