The BDFA are providing supplementary funds to Dr Jon Cooper of King's College London, to cover the student fees of Catherine Kielar, a BDSRA funded PhD student in the Paediatric Storage Disorders Laboratory. Catherine's project is to explore why particular populations of brain cells are vulnerable in Batten disease, exploring how events at the synapse and glial activation are related to neuronal loss.
