As Head of Fundraising for the BDFA, Liz is responsible for growth of income to achieve long-term sustainability.

Liz, from Shipley, West Yorkshire has 22 years’ experience as a fundraiser in the charitable sector. Prior to working for the BDFA, she worked for a large charity, building a successful track record in securing income from grant making bodies.

Liz is also a qualified Nursery Nurse and prior to her work in the charitable sector, she worked on a busy hospital Neonatal Unit in Leeds, supporting families of pre-term babies.

As well as her professional skills and knowledge in fundraising, Liz has personal experience of how Batten Disease affects the family. Her niece and nephew both had CLN2 and this experience, together with her professional background, is the inspiration for her work at the BDFA.
