This is a great opportunity for a motivated, highly-organised individual to make a significant contribution as part of a team to the development of a growing charity to help it achieve its Vision of a world without Batten disease.

As the only dedicated patient organisation for Batten disease in the UK, the Batten Disease Family Association aims to support affected families and to directly fund research into potential therapies and ultimately a cure.

In this key role you will work with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees in formulating the Charity’s Fundraising Strategy and be responsible for its delivery, ensuring sufficient funds are available for the BDFA to achieve its overall strategic aims.

The successful candidate will possess a range of experience and abilities that will enable them to meet our fundraising objectives with skill and confidence. You will have an understanding of the scope of fundraising and a demonstrative track record of raising money from a wide variety of sources. Among your key strengths will be excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and networking skills and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with a disability and the impact on the family.

The job description and person specification can be downloaded here.  Applications should be made by CV and covering letter detailing how you think your skills and experience can help us achieve our vision, to Andrea West, BDFA Chief Executive, andreawest@bdfa-uk.org.uk  – Closing Date 30th September 2015
